Deep Lake

It seems each time I visit Lake Superior I say tonight is by far the most beautiful evening I jave ever spent on this lake. This past Sunday nght was no exception except I think it really was.

Simple Winter

Winter soon comes to the north leaving only white blue grey. The migration of shadows across the sheets of ice become the keepers of time. Soon it will be too cold to even look up at the beautiful moon. But I love the way winter chases everything away, even the thoughts of summer that I no longer need.

Before I Could Remember

There is a place where dreams and personal symbols combine to remember the river of night.

Dreaming Dreams

 I recall an immense deafening silence as a child that came in dreams in  which nothing itself could be heard as an absence that was powerful and infinite. At times an image of a thumb tip picking up a grain of salt would accompany this silence, it was the thumb of a giant and the salt grain would be that of a childs. The moon coming over the early night sky was collosal as if it had drifted away from its moorings and would soon crash into the earth. My latest work is about these dreams and the personnel symbols which orbit my inner minds eye.

I have been attempting to recreate dreams from my youth, the early nightmares where the mind creates worlds that are beyond the childs comprehension thus rendering surrealistic landscapes which frighten and cause wonder.
